How to access the Intranet

The HFM Intranet is a Sharepoint Collaborative Workspace with the following url: Intranet site for HFM program - Home (sharepoint.com)
It is open to all HFM members and requires a login and password.

Intranet access requiress:

  1. You must have a CERN lightweight account or a CERN NICE account.
  2. You must be on the HFM members list

How to get a CERN lightweight account

If you do not already have a CERN NICE account, then you need a CERN lightweight account to access the Intranet. Visit the CERN accounts page and click on the top link to go to the Lightweight Accounts portal. Once you have completed the online registration form, you will receive an email to validate your account and set a password. You can then use your email address and the password that you have created to access the Intranet. The whole process should take only a few minutes.

How to join the HFM member list

If you are not part of any HF mailing list, you will not gain access to the Intranet. To be added to a mailing list, please contact us directly at HFM.Project.Office@cern.ch

Problems logging in

Log in problems may be due to the following reasons:

Log in from outside CERN

 You need to add “CERN\” to your username i.e. “CERN\username”, or use your email address.

Using a Mac

 Some older versions of the Safari web-browser have some known issues connecting to SharePoint sites. In this case it is recommended to use Firefox instead.

No CERN lightweight account

 See above: "How to get a CERN lightweight account"

Not part of any HFM mailing list

Follow this link, and on the left-hand side of the webpage click "Check Account Status" to view details of your CERN email account (also know as CERN NICE account).


 

Problems with your CERN email account

CERN email accounts need their passwords reset once per year (you are notified of this in advance by email). If a password is not reset the account is deactivated. To reactive it you must contact service-desk@cern.ch
